Task 2: Decisive Moment
Lecture
Week 5: Rhythm and Movement
- Rhythm and movement is what creates a flow of elements that guides the viewer's eye to a particular focus. Finding rhythm in art is one of the most difficult aspects to explain.
- The basic visual elements that create movement are shapes and lines. Connection of different elements in a composition, a flow of movement can be created.
- Use different shapes and lines to create more interesting layouts. It will create a much more dynamic scene. Create rhythm by layering different shapes and patterns.
Chiaroscuro
What is Chiaroscuro?
- It means 'light-dark'. It is often used to suggest the volume and modeling of the depicted object. Represents a clear tonal contrast. Chiaro: Bright / Scuro: Dark
Why do we use Chiaroscuro?
- It is used to create dramatic tension in the scene, form and value, the balance between positive and negative spaces. Create sensory effects, pull intention in an intense way, create negative and positive space.

Task 2: Decisive Moment
Week 5: Research
My concept:
- Movie, Game, and Anime
- I've been thinking a lot about what the topic will be. There were movies and games that suddenly came to my mind, but I was very confused about what to use.
- First, 'Forrest Gump' and 'The hitman's Bodyguard' came to mind.
- Forrest Gump is a 1994 American comedy-drama film. This story depicts decades in the life of Forrest Gump, a wise and kind man who witnesses and unwittingly influences several crucial historical events in 20th-century America.
- I looked into this because I had a scene in which he was running, or a scene in which he opened a box of chocolates in my mind. Those scenes are the most important scenes in the film.
- The Hitman's Bodyguard is a 2017 American action comedy film. The film is about the various incidents and accidents experienced by bodyguards who have to protect a murderer who is going to testify before the International Criminal Court.
- This is the final scene that inspired me the most, it is the ending scene where the killer and his wife are dancing in a bar where a everyone were fight at this place. This made me think that there are only the two of them left in the world.
My last research was about game.
- League of Legends, is a 2009 multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games. In the game, two teams of five players battle in player versus player combat, each team occupying and defending their half of the map. Each of the ten players controls a character, known as a "champion", with unique abilities and differing styles of play.
- If I had to choose only one champion in this game, my answer would be 'Jhin'. That's how much I love this character. The reason is that first of all, I really liked his concept.
'Jhin is a meticulous criminal psychopath who believes murder is art. Using his gun as his paintbrush, Jhin creates works of artistic brutality, horrifying victims and onlookers. He gains a cruel pleasure from putting on his gruesome theater, making him the ideal choice to send the most powerful of messages: terror.'
- Also, it has a movement that I like the most when playing this game. He was the first champion that I played.
Idea Exploration and Process
- So in the end, I decided to choose the game that I could use the most imaginatively and like the most.
- I sketched posters in various poses. Thinking about what could best describe him, I thought of him as a 'murderer' and an 'artist', so I imagined a flower flowing with blood.
- First, I sketched him looking at the front, referring to the photos I searched for 'Jhin'.
- After I finished the sketch, I colored it and then shaded it.
- After everything was done, I used Photoshop to draw a rose for his background. I used a coarse-grained brush to give it a bit of a grotesque look.
- After all the designs were finished, I turned over the design I finished and then drew the blood flowing down with a same brush as a rose drawing.
- And I write and insert the appropriate text for this poster.
Animation Experimentation:
- In my animation, I wanted to express blood flowing from a rose, slowly bleeding from that red big rose.
Final Outcome
Feedback
Week 6: I struggled a lot about which work to choose. So I decided to make a scene from 'Game'. I thought about trying the movie, but I thought the game would be even better.
Week 7: She said that the background I finished using Photoshop was very good. When asked how to express this, I said that I wanted to express the flow of blood from the rose, which is the background. And they said it would be a good idea.
Week 9: Finally, the animation is complete. It expresses the flow of blood from the rose, which is the background. She said this was ok, and she told me to go ahead with the work as it is. Be sure to include my typography on the final poster and GIF.
Reflection
Experience: This project was a very difficult but interesting topic for me. I have to come up with my own ideas from ideas to animations, and this was a lot of fun. I have come to realize once again that choosing what I like and making it is such a fun thing to do. I realized that drawing with Adobe Illustrator is a very difficult task. I'm not very good at drawing, but I tried to do my best. And when animating, this had to give me a lot of time, it was difficult, but it gave me more experience.
Observation: Through this project, I found a lot of posters, and I realized how much imagination people have. I thought people's imagination was very vast and amazing. I realized how fun and exciting it is to express the ideas I had in my head on a poster.
Finding: I have found that making a poster is a very laborious process. A poster should look simple but powerful, and be able to express it to people. That's why you have to think through a lot of ideas, and create them with the best of them.
